Welcome Back to School

Hello everyone and welcome back to school. Our school year is different than in the United States so we have been going to school during your summer. We've been doing research about the environment of Malaysia and have made some videos to share with you. This is our first one--it's about rainforests. We hope that you enjoy watching.

Fashion Show!

The three contestants

The winning team!

Two weeks ago, we completed our yearly state benchmark exams. The state tests are a big deal here and last an entire week at the end of every school year. We worked really hard all week and believe we will have great results when the scores come back in May.

When the benchmark week comes up, it is a state law that teachers have to cover everything in their classroom. After we helped Ms. M tear the paper down, we decided to have a fashion show! Here's a few pictures of our fun!

Greetings! From Marianna, Arkansas!

Hello friends! We're so excited to get to know you all and share a little bit about life in the United States and here in the Arkansas Delta. A few of us have written introductions and our 4th period class is working on a video tour of our classroom. We hope you enjoy!
Here's a map of where we live:
Hi, I'm Alvertis and I live in Marianna, Arkansas. First of all, we go to school Monday through Friday. We go to school from 8:00AM to 3:00PM. Saturday and Sunday are our weekend. Math is really important down here too. Other subjects like language, reading, and science are important too. Sometimes we go on field trips at school. Marianna is a very small town. Not every town or city here in the US is big. Marianna is small, but just a little interesting. That's about our school and Marianna.

Hey! My name is Shanta and I just wanted to tell you a little bit about where I live, which is Marianna, AR. Marianna is a small little town but we have stores and schools here. We like to play loud music up and down the street, we also ride bikes and walk a lot. Marianna is also sometimes violent but we have police to stop it. Our school is very fun and interesting to me. But I really like Marianna and I hope one day you can come and visit.

Introducing SMK Tengku Lela Segara

Hello! SMK Tengku Lela Segara is located in Marang, Terengganu, Malaysia. It is a place on a small hill with a sea view. We can see Kapas Island from our school. Our school is very beautiful. Our school has more than 1,600 students.(Kapas Island )

We only have Malay students, but the teachers in our school have different backgrounds. The majority of our school is Muslim, but a few of the teachers are Christian and Buddhist. Our school week starts on Sunday and ends on Thursday. Some of the students in our school live on campus.

(Hostel at our school--where students live)

We are in class 4C. We have about 29 students in our class. Our class monitor is Mohd Sabni bin Ahmad. There are 11 boys and 18 girls. What class we are put in is decided on by our teachers based on our examination results. We come to school early in the morning at 7:10 a.m. and go home at 1:40 p.m. On Tuesdays, we stay at school until 4:00 p.m. because of co-curriculars.

(Our class-4C)

We have a lot of homework in various subjects like mathematics. In fact, we often run out of time when working on our homework. The subject that we especially don't like is additional mathematics because it is very hard and challenging to us.

Everyone has different hobbies here. We like watching television, swimming, shopping, cooking, and anything else that makes us happy. When we are doing our hobbies we are not wasting our time.

Every weekend, friends spend time at the beach or Batu Burok. We play volleyball, build sandcastles and other things while we are there. When we are doing this, we are really happy and enjoy it fully. Other than that, we could release our stress and our tension with a lot of homework. Then, we could see a blue sky and a peaceful surrounding there.

With love and care,
